Craving
Craving
There was once a pig named Marvin.
Marvin’s favorite thing to do was to lay in wait at the grocery store, sneak up
behind people and snort little whispers of what they should buy.

Marvin, almost always made the people buy chocolate.
But some people didn’t eat chocolate, perhaps they were allergic.
For these people Marvin snorted words like potato chips, cookies, apple pie
and things of that sort.

One day, a lovely dark haired woman walked in.
This woman seemed very composed, fit and sure of herself.
Probably the director of some do gooding public affairs department
Marvin thought.

Marvin snort-whispered “Peanut M & M’s”, into her ear. She did nothing.
She walked right past the candy isle and headed to the produce department.
She picked up all sorts of garden things for something she called
Vegetable Medley.

Marvin was appalled.
He followed her out to her car carrying a two-pound bag of Peanut M&M’s.
He slipped into the backseat and rode home with her, whispering,
“eat the chocolate”.

When the woman got home she put away her groceries
then went to take a shower.

Marvin took this time to fill a glass jar full of peanut M&M’s.
He placed the jar on her coffee table in the living room and waited.

He opened her purse, checked her wallet and discovered her name was Cheryl.
When Cheryl came out to the living room she noticed something strange. There was a jar filled with Peanut M&M’s and a rather curious, perturbed looking little piggie. It, of course was Marvin.
“Eat the M&M’s”. said Marvin
“No” she said emphatically. “I must be going nuts.”
Cheryl left the room, grabbed her keys from the kitchen and left the house.
Marvin was aghast. No one ever said NO to Marvin.
Marvin went back to the store and got some friends, Howard, Curtis
and Darla the Dancing Pig.

When Cheryl returned to her home, there, in her living room was Marvin,
Curtis, Howard, a large jar of Peanut M&M’s and Darla the Dancing Pig.

“What is this?” said Cheryl.
EAT THE CHOCOLATE, the piggies loudly chanted.
“NO!, I’ve just had dinner. I’m full.”
“EAT THE CHOCOLATE. EAT THE CHOCOLATE.” the chanting became louder.
“No! Now I insist you leave.”
“EAT THE CHOCOLATE. EAT THE CHOCOLATE.”
the chanting was louder still. Marvin turned to Darla and said “ok Now.”

Darla began a FRANTIC, SWIRLING DANCE around the jar
and then around Cheryl.
and then around Cheryl.
“EAT THE CHOCOLATE. EAT THE M&M’s. DO NOT DENY US”
Cheryl couldn’t hold back. It was overwhelming.
She ripped the top off of the jar and poured the contents into her gaping mouth.

The next day at her office at the Red Cross,
a jar of peanut M&M’s appeared on her desk at work.
